At the age of five, Joe's cousin Rick taught him a beat on the drums, and from that moment, music has been along for the ride. Over the years, Joe has played as a drummer and vocalist for bands such as Jax Decker, spotlight.
His experience in theatre also helped overcome the shyness of performing on stage. Now, Joe is excited to sing for wonderful audiences and share the stage with the incredibly talented musicians of Betty Calling.

George's love of music began at an early age when he started learning the piano. However, at 11 years old, he discovered his true passion, the drums. "When I was about 11, I took up playing the drums and fell in love," he recalls.
Taking lessons and playing along with the music of the era, George developed his skills, with Chicago being one of his favorite bands. By 16, he was already sharing his knowledge, giving drum lessons at Boddicker’s School of Music while also playing in several bands throughout high school.
Over the years, George continued drumming, including playing for a contemporary church service at First Lutheran Church. In 2011, he joined Betty Calling, where he remains behind the kit, driving the band's rhythm with passion and energy.
"Playing the drums, especially with this group, is something I still love to do."

My interest in music began at the age of five, as both my parents frequently played our piano. I started formal lessons at age seven with an old-school teacher who wasn’t shy about cracking my knuckles with a ruler when I made a bad mistake. After ten years of classical training and mastering chord progressions, I was ready to play what I wanted to play.
I joined my first band, Redwing, in 1981. We traveled across the Midwest playing rhythm and blues and classic rock ’n’ roll. We had a Bluebird bus with most of the seats removed—except for the first couple rows—and the rest was packed with trusses, par lights, and our massive PA system. After Redwing disbanded in 1986, I spent many years playing solo venues. In 2012, I joined Iowa’s Beatles tribute band, Silver Wings, and performed with them until 2015. We were inducted into the Iowa Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. From 2015 through 2018, I played with the extremely popular band Saloonatics.
In 2021, I joined Betty Calling, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to play with this group ever since.

Christian has been a musician for most of his life, with over 40 years of experience on the electric guitar. Inspired by his father, a musician himself, Christian developed a deep love for music early on—a passion that has only grown stronger with time.
Over the years, he has played in several bands, including Strange Exchange, Strange Toys, Rip Chord, and Full Circle, but his longest and most dedicated tenure has been with Betty Calling. His playing is heavily influenced by legendary guitarists like Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, and Eric Johnson, among many others.
Beyond performing, Christian finds immense joy in songwriting and collaborating with his bandmates—something he wishes they all had more time for. With every note and every show, he continues to push his craft, bringing energy, soul, and a lifetime of musical experience to the stage.
